Changelog

Release notes.

What each release added, changed and fixed, and what is still rough. Newest first.

Releases before the rename shipped as Cloaky. The app, its settings folder and the notes below keep that name until the rename release lands.

0.1.2UnreleasedIn testing

Linux, and a calmer first run.

The first release for Linux, beside macOS. It is written and in testing, not published yet.

Added

  • Linux x64 packages: an AppImage, a .deb and an .rpm. Updates install only when the release's signing key vouches for them. The AppImage needs FUSE 2 (libfuse2, or libfuse2t64 on Ubuntu 24.04 and later).
  • While files upload or a voice take transcribes, Send waits and says why.
  • Settings search highlights the setting it lands on and opens the section that holds it.
  • Squad's templates share one gallery, and each names its model and that model's price.

Changed

  • Every installed engine is on by default, and a new thread starts on one that can run, so the app works without Claude Code.
  • The model picker lists engines first, then the chosen engine's models.
  • A new install caps each session's spend at $5. A budget below $0 or above $1,000 is refused. Change it in Settings › General › Session budget.
  • A new install follows the system's light or dark setting, and the window opens in your saved theme from its first frame.
  • Sending without a Venice key asks for one instead of leaving a failed chat.
  • Stop also ends the background shells and subagents a session started.
  • Approval, question and plan cards light only the one action they ask for.

Fixed

  • An engine that ignored Stop no longer keeps running, or spending, until its turn ends.
  • A Send straight after Stop no longer lets the stopped turn's request reach Venice.
  • Undo and Redo no longer lose another turn's Redo or misfire while another turn runs.
  • Saving a Venice key while offline says Venice couldn't be reached, instead of claiming the key was rejected.
  • Git features work in very large repositories without slowing every call.

Known issues

  • The Intel and Linux builds have had less testing than Apple silicon. Reports from Wayland and X11 are especially useful. There is no Windows build.
0.1.1StableOct 14, 2026

The free workbench for Venice.

The first public release. Every session runs on Venice's private tier, five engines share one workbench, and nothing routes anywhere you didn't turn on. Shipped as Cloaky Base.

What's in it

  • Venice only. Add a Venice key once. Every session, engine and assist goes to Venice's private tier, with no other provider account involved.
  • Five engines. Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, Kimi Code and Grok Build. Each engine's own binary runs on your machine; onboarding shows which are installed and the vendor's command for the rest.
  • Approvals and modes. Cards for edits and commands, and four permission modes that set what runs without asking.
  • Review. Diffs per file, comments on a line, and rejecting a hunk.
  • Undo and Redo on every turn, including what a shell command wrote, for the last ten turns of a session.
  • A second opinion. An optional check after each turn for looping, drift and claims no tool output shows, and at each approval for calls that reach outside the task, can't be undone or send something out. Off until you turn it on.
  • A page check. The agent can open a page on an approved local dev server and read its errors, failed requests and a screenshot.
  • Retries. A Venice request that fails before any answer arrives is sent again, up to three attempts.
  • macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel, signed and notarized.

Known issues

  • The first launch asks for a Venice key before anything else can start.
  • Engines are installed at onboarding or from Settings › Engines, not bundled in the app.
